Appealing to “One Family” for Helping Each Other

From the day 10th January, in the southern area of China, many people have suffered from the severe snow disaster which has never occurred for about 50 years.  The snow disaster was so destructive that the victims have been magnified up to 14 provinces cities and regions.  After having a full knowledge of the situation of the disaster, the ‘Red Cross Society of China Jet Li One Foundation Project’ has decided to appropriate 950 thousand for the rescue work of the snow disaster, while at the same time, to appeal to the whole society for working together, getting strength and warmth from each other in order to go through the great difficulties with joint efforts.

Since the snow disaster took place, all the staff and the members of the managerial committee of’ Red Cross Society of China Jet Li One Foundation Project’ have always been keeping an eye on the situation.  Meanwhile, they tried to communicate with the Red Cross so as to see the latest circumstances and their concrete process of rescue work.

At last, the managerial committee of the ‘One Foundation’ has arrived at the conclusion: to appropriate the fund to provide the material rescue for the 14 provinces and the cities as much as possible.  According to the related national rules for rescuing work in the disaster, with the uniform analysis of the various situation of the affected regions taken by the ‘the General Red Cross’, the distribution of the fund is listed as follows:

The 5 most affected provinces:   will receive 100thousand, while the others 9   50thousand.  The entire fund amounted to 950000yuanes will be sent to buy the rice for supporting the rescue work by the local Red Cross.

Historically this has been the largest amount of fund for recuing since the establishment of ‘the One Foundation’, and the first time to practice the rescue action facing several disaster areas at the same time.  The workers expressed the view that ‘the One Foundation’’s supply for the disaster areas was limited because the affecting areas were just too extensive without expectation.  They hoped that in this way the victims would feel from care and love from ‘One Family’. Since each yuan raised by’ the One Foundation’ included our sincere love, our goal was to pass the love of each family member to each victim of the snow disaster.  We have spared no effort to telling them that they were no longer alone faced with the severe storm, indeed numerous family members were standing with them hand in hand.

Apart from offering the material rescue by appropriating fund, the ‘One Foundation’ called on the ‘Family members’ who were in the disaster area to take action immediately all together and help the people around from the small things as possible in order to get through the difficulties.

Our initiator Mr Li Lianjie recalled that the most impressive thing in experiencing the tsunami was the scene of standing and working together hand in hand despite the nationalities and races.  Therefore, ‘the One Foundation’ called on the family members in the disaster areas to give a hand to each other and get warmth as well.

On pair of gloves or one cotton-padded cap hat may protect them from the great storm and pass our sincere love to them

One glass of temperate water or one bowl of instant noodles may help the passengers resorted in the railway stations to feel the warmth from the family by heart without thinking of the hunger and cold temporarily.

One attempt of cleaning the accumulated snow or frozen ice may make it possible an access for the cars and the recuperation for the transportation.
