At 4:30 a.m. May 17, One Foundation’s second team workers, along with the first batch of relief materials collected, arrived in Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport on flight H01119 of Juneyao Airlines owned by Juneyao Group. The team consisted of Mr. Jet Li, the Love ambassador of the Red Cross of China and founder of One Foundation, the volunteer psychology experts and the staff of Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Upon arriving at the airport, the team joined the team already on the ground. The team on the ground gave a brief report on the status of fund-raising and what they learned about the devastated area.

By noon May 17, One Foundation had already collected up to 427,250,000 RMB. Aproximately 500,000 people donated money through the Internet.

The first batch of relief material, which included the necessities needed by the earthquake victims, that arrived with the team was collected within 24 hours. This included tents, quilts, sleeping bags, milk powder for babies, purified drinking water, waterproof cloth, medicine, medical instruments, flashlights etc…, each item was full of love for the victims. In addition, One Foundation’s frontline team made an arrangement with the five trucks filled with relief material to distribute the contents to the places where it was most needed.

Mr. Jet Li said, “One Foundation is just a one-year old charitable organization. It focuses on the concept that, “the whole world is one family”. Besides the necessities, One Foundation also brings endless love. Our goodness is motivated by the disaster. One yuan is equal to one million in essence.”

 After that, the teams headed for the office of the local Red Cross from the airport and held a meeting with the staff to create a plan for relief and material distribution.
