On May 21, "5.12 Sichuan Earthquake Disaster Relief Command (temporary) " was formally set up by Jet Li One Foundation in Chengdu. This is the first entity of One Foundation built for natural disaster relief which manifests that our relief work has been stepped into the second stage of reconstruction by the long-term sustainability. The captain of Sichuan earthquake relief work team of Red Cross Society of China, Mr. Jun Hong Ling, the love ambassador of Red Cross Society of China, founder of One Foundation, Mr. Jet Li, permanent volunteers of One Foundation, Mr. Sun Nan and Liu Hongyin attended the conference of command, who release a specific report to public media.

The captain of Sichuan earthquake relief work team of Red Cross Society of China, Mr. Jun Hong Ling commended and confirmed our One Foundation’s great endeavor to earthquake relief with full recognition, especially our rapid response and professional operation which played a very important role.

On May 17, Jet Li introduced the key reason why establish the Disaster Relief Command (temporary) upon his arrival in Chengdu, he said: "This is a long haul combat as the reconstruction of disaster areas may last several years. I hope we could stick to our concept of One family and we appeal to all our members could pay closed concern to reconstruction of disaster area.

The establishment of the Disaster Relief Command (temporary) aims to conduct long-term sustainability of reconstruction work. At present, there are three teams in the command as Co-ordination Team, Material Transportation Team and Sociality Team. One Foundation will send these teams to organize and train volunteers in local area cooperated with Sichuan earthquake relief work team of Red Cross Society of China and local Red Cross Society working on series specific post-disaster reconstruction task.

Jet Li said:" We have deployed proper arrangements and the third batch of supplies will be arrived tomorrow. One Foundation Family will be built up in Jiangyou county and other places to help students in more than 130 schools to resume classes." Jet Li also expressed that One Foundation’s post disaster work will focus on sponsoring and supporting the elderly, orphans and disabled persons.

Furthermore, up to 12:00am on May 21, One Founation has raised donation overall RMB 56.5457 million and more than 660,000 people participated in contributions. One Foundation will continue to uphold each donor’s trust and publish the report of donation application to public regularly without failing each member’s love.
