Ten Laurence Championships Award Cooperates With Jet Li One Foundation |

“Ten Laurence Championship Award”, the top athletic award, was held in Changsha, Hunan on May 12 for its 2007 ceremony. Jet Li, the founder of Jet Li One Foundation was invited to attend the ceremony. Meanwhile, he announced that that One Foundation has joined the committee for Ten Laurence Championship as cooperative partners. More than then renowned athletes joined the family of One foundation to be permanent volunteers.
Athletes join the team of volunteers, calling on the whole society to participate
Liu Xiang, Shen Xue, Zhao Hongbo, Li Nina, Han Xiaopeng, Li Na, Qian Hong, Le Jinyi, Chen Lu, Wang Haibing, Dong, Zhaozhi, etc. more than then current and retired renowned athletes joined the team of volunteers for Jet Li One Foundation during the press conference of Ten Laurence Championship award.
Liu Xiang, Zhen Xue, and Zhao Hongbo accepted a t-shirt with the print of One Foundation from Jet Li, the founder of One Foundation. Liu Xiang, who flew on the same plane as Jet Li, said that he discussed issues for One Foundation and charity work during the whole flight with Jet Li. As a volunteer this time for the foundation, Liu Xiang said that participation is the most important. He said, “Other than showing oneself in the stadium, we also have to show ourselves in social works, to join more social and charity activities. There are many people in our society who need our help and our care. Jet Li told me about One Foundation, this is a great event. Athletes like us should support, to do what we can do! It does not matter how much you donate, the action itself is important. We do not need to compare, if we can share our care, even if it is one cent, it is worthwhile.”
During the ceremony at night, as a volunteer for the foundation, Liu Xiang did not forget to promote the foundation. When he got the award for the most popular award by the highest numbers of text messages, he suggested to the organizational committee to donate the income from text messages to the foundation.
Shen Xue and Zhao Bohong were prepared to start volunteer activities as soon as possible. “To be one part of the foundation, it is our honor and our pride. This is a great thing. We will use our time and our effort to promote the idea of One Foundation.”
Liu Xiang’s coach, the renowned Xun Haiping, promoted the athletic community and the whole society to join. “As a famous athlete or a member of the sports community, this is a plan which everyone should participate. Why? Because as an athlete, there are so many people who are supporting and caring for us. As a member of the sports community, we should join in the society to help the persons who needs our help. Therefore, I would like to tell everyone that I hope for more people to join in the One foundation, to contribute.”
Ten Laurence Championship Award cooperates with Jet Li One Foundation, together making effort for Charity
In this ceremony, One Foundation joined the committee for Ten Laurence Championship as cooperative partners, together making efforts for charity.
Ten Laurence Championship Committee is made up by top athletes in China. Deng Yaping is the committee chairwomen. Other than organizing the selection of the award, charity is another important task for them, to be responsible for foundation of the ten championship. This work has always been using “Sports excites people, charity return to society” as their own responsibility, to help the young generation.
This cooperation with One Foundation is build on mutual recognition and dream. The two parties agreed to overall and multi-method cooperation in charity. There is only one goal, that is to use their resources and platform to attract the entire society’s care and participation for charity in China. |
