MLB, one of the four biggest sports leagues in America will be on their first trip to China. The Los Angeles Dogers and San Diego Padres will have two games in two days in Beijing.
Apart from the breathtaking baseball matchs, there is another mission of MLB coming to China—to cooperate with the Red Cross of China Jet Li One Foundation Project.
At the charity gala the day before the game, MLA donated 10,000 USD to the One Foundation, and declared that they would cooperate with One Foundation in all aspects of the charity field, and this visit to China is the beginning of the cooperation. Thus, MLB, after NBA, became a second very significant partner in the sports field of One Foundation Project.
The founder of One Foundation Jet Li, present in the welcoming banquet, expressed his appreciation to this cooperation. He used to be an athlete and explained the shared spirit of One Foundation and sports as: “The whole world is sharing the same sports spirit—challenge and race against yourself and adhere to your goal and never give up, which I think is something that One Foundation is advocating. The life of every one, from birth to death, is a life of racing, in which you may stumble on many difficulties and you will win the championship of your own life through perseverance. ” On the cooperation with One Foundation, the executive of MLB said that it is based on the “one family on earth” conception of One Foundation as well as its international and professional management. “In America, baseball is a game that is watched by the whole family. And it would be of no surprise to see all the family members coming to the game live to cheer on their loved teams, which you see, is just like what One Foundation has advocated that each one of us is the member of the big family of earth. We should cheer up one another, and never give up without trying hard.” Beside that, he said, 10,000 dollars represent 10,000 league members’ loving hearts. Hopefully, One Foundation would pass this one family conception and our cares to more places. In the future, MLB would further the charity cooperation with One foundation and help it promote the development of charity causes. |
